Karen Murtha

 

Karen L. Murtha is a Rhode Island School of Design graduate and artist member of the Providence Art Club, Providence RI. She is primarily a figurative painter working with oil paints, watercolor and conte’ crayon and especially fascinated with the expression of the human form.  She is proficient with digital imagery, using the applications of the Adobe Creative Suite’s. 

 

Formerly, employed in the East Greenwich School Department as the art instructor in Photography, Digital Art, Senior and Advanced Placement Portfolio courses.  Past collaboration with retail stores, afforded her the opportunity to complete and publish hundreds of high fashion clothing illustrations for commercial publication. Karen has also been commissioned for portraits, murals and signage for both personal and commercial spaces and fundraisers.

 

Exhibitions include group shows at the Providence Art Club, Coastal Living Gallery in Wickford and The Gilbert Stuart Museum.
